All components used in the production of 11122 conform to specifications contained in the USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 CFR Sections specified above, and may be used as a component of articles intended for use in food contact applications. Also, 11122 is manufactured in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices as set out in CFR 174.5 Chevron Chemical Company Pursuant to your request, Sharon Griswold has asked us to send you a statement concerning heavy metals in our high density polyethylene resin HiD 9006. Chevron Chemical Company certifies that Chevron High Density Polyethylene resin HiD 9006 and packaging components and all raw materials used in the manufacture thereof meet the standards of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the rules and regulations promulgated thereunder. No additional substances such as heavy metals (i.e., antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, selenium, or silver) are intentionally added to this polyethylene resin that would violate governmental guidelines. In regard to the Model Toxics Legislation regulating the heavy metals, i.e., lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium, Chevron has tested our process for manufacturing this type of product and we can certify that the summation of lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium are less than 20 ppm. As I understand the CONEG regulations, effective January 1, 1994, your packaging for your products must be less than 100 ppm total heavy metals.
